About
The Nordic Community of Practice for Carbon Credit Markets supports Nordic stakeholders in navigating the latest rules and good practices for carbon market cooperation. It focuses on how high integrity can be ensured in practice in the Paris Agreement, voluntary and European contexts. It provides analysis, events and a platform for Nordic stakeholders to share their views and experiences on carbon credit cooperation. The project caters to a wide range of stakeholders, including governments, municipalities, businesses, research institutions, and civil society organisations. It is tailored for the Nordic audience, but key insights will also be shared with the international community. The Nordic Community of Practice for Carbon Credit Markets continues a strong tradition of Nordic cooperation on the responsible use of carbon markets, responding to stakeholders' calls for ongoing dialogue, practical guidance and peer learning. It builds on the results of the projects the Nordic Dialogue on Voluntary Compensation (2021-2022) and on building capacity for best practices for the voluntary carbon market (2023-2024).

It is facilitated by the same team of leading carbon market experts from Perspectives Climate Research, IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, Carbon Limits and Tyrsky Consulting. The Nordic Community of Practice for Carbon Credit Markets is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers, under its Nordic Climate and Air Programme (NKLP).

The Nordic Community of Practice for Carbon Credit Markets was created based on the requests and recommendations from Nordic stakeholders under the Nordic Dialogue and the Nordic event series.
